Personal Statement
I am a University of Cape Town (UCT) BA Fine Art graduate (2014). I am a recipient of numerous scholarships, mentorship, and academic excellence awards from institutions in South Africa, the United States of America, and the Dominican Republic. I also worked in South Africa, South Korea, and China, conducted art research in the United States of America, and was a visiting artist at Ani Art Academies in the Dominican Republic. I am currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Tennessee Knoxville.
Selected Work Experience
Graduate Teaching Assistant (Part-time 2024-present): responsible for co-teaching 100-level-300-level art courses under a full-time, experienced university professor's guidance.
Visual Arts Teacher (Full-time: 2022-2024): responsible for teaching Visual Arts to Elementary School students (grades 1-6) at CISS (Concordia International School Shanghai).
Visual Arts Teacher (Full-time: 2021-2022): responsible for teaching Visual Arts to Upper School students (grades 6-12) at QISS (Qingdao No.1 International School of Shandong Province).
English Teacher (Full-time: 2019-2021): responsible for teaching Qinglinjing, Cuizhu, and Jingtian Primary School students English as a second language.
English Teacher (2017-2018): responsible for co-teaching English as a second language to students of Isoo, Hyanglim, and Songgwang Elementary Schools in Suncheon, South Korea.
English Teacher (2018): responsible for co-teaching English as a second language to the top middle school students of the Jeollanam-do Office of Education’s Summer Program at Yeonnam University, South Korea.
